I eventually transferred from the Birmingham area to the Swindon area in December 1976 working initially at W.H Smiths Greenbridge on their 2970 and 2960s, then later became responsible for Woolworth's 1904 & House of Fraser's Dual 2960

Steve Opalka ICL Project Manager House of Fraser - came to England at the time of the Hungarian revolution - was at university in Hungary - got a job in UK as a textile workers mate - then went back to university and went on from there to ICL. Learnt English by writing everything down in a notebook to build his vocabulary - must have learnt some choice phrases
