                The baby’s brother said:

Baby, you’re boring – and your parents as well!

Why get ‘gooey-wooey’ – why fall under his spell?

He’s not really interesting for he can’t even speak –

And, look at his nappies!  There’s so many leaks.

He screams for attention. If I did that, you know

I’d be told to be quiet! When he does it? Oh, no!

Mummy comes running and hugs him and then

Of course he starts screaming all over again.

If I was to ask for a snack in the night

I’d be sent back to bed.  Do you think it is right

When he starts his screaming so loud and so clear,

He gets a bottle. Don’t you think this is queer?

Why are babies boring? I hope you agree.

Why give to this baby the things meant for me?

Why croon over his cradle, and cuddle him too – and

Oh no! What’s that smell?  Yes, I’m sure it is poo.

You can’t love a brother who’s in bed all the day - but

I guess he’s now here my world and that’s where he’ll stay.

They tell me he’ll grow up and then soon we can play.

But when I look at this baby this seems far away.
