                Mum, just a note to let you know
                      Why your chocolate’s disappeared.
                You’ll have your own suspicions,
                      And they’ll be exactly as you feared.

                For I saw them on the table,
                      When I came down last night
                I couldn’t think what I could eat,
                    Then your chocolates came in sight.

                I wanted just to look at them,
                     Well, to examine them for fun.
                The smell of chocolate tempted me
                       And I thought I’d take just one.

                The taste was so delicious
                      That I took another one –
                This led me on to several more,
                        Oh please forgive me Mum.

                I think you should be pleased with me,
                    Look, what I’ve done was great;
                For by my eating all your chocolates,
                     You won’t pile on the weight.
