Do I miss You God, each morning, as I hurry down the street?

Or is it You who smiles at me, through the faces that I meet?

Is it You who tries to speak to me, through people in our town?

Or is Your quiet voice just lost - in traffic noise it's drowned?

God, did I miss You then, this morning, when I had no time to stop?

Did You see me racing madly as I went from shop to shop?

It's probable I missed your birds, who rejoice in their creation -

For I had no time to hear them as I hurried to the station.

When I meet someone who's new to me - of another faith or creed -

I must remember that You never turned your back on those in need.

When someone needs to speak to me, but I've hardly any time -

I'll tell myself that time, dear God, is yours, it's never mine.

So please dear God be with me as I start a brand new week.

I mustn't doubt that You are seen by everyone I meet.

                   If I give a smile, a kindly word - it's You they'll really see.

So help me God to always let Your light reflect through me.
