The Shears Brothers
Josie's grandfather, Tom Shears, along with his six brothers all served in France at the same time during WW1 and all came home.
In a cutting from a local newspaper that Josie’s late mother kept is the following:
“Death of Mr Shears - Mr Louis Shears of East Hill View, Gunville Hill, Winterslow has died at the age of 79. Mr Shears was one of seven brothers who served in France during the First World War and his mother received a telegram of congratulations from King George V because it was unique to have seven brothers all serving in France at the same time.”
