Small children and sometimes students of English as a second language can get mixed up with time

and tense. Here is a poem which makes nonsense of Time and Tense – just for fun.

Can you write it out in the present tense, and then change it to the other tenses also?

This morning I go to the station

But the weather was very bad.

The sun will be bright and shining

                  But I’m feeling awfully sad.

As I walk along the pavement

                  I had such melancholy thoughts

For I’ll be thinking of my maths exam

And this will make me feel distraught.

                Also, today we’ll study English

The subject was “Time and Tense”

                But I’m a dreadfully silly person –

                  Who didn’t have any sense.
