Josie Whitehead’s Poems

                William Blake said:

To see a world in a grain of sand
And a heaven in a wild flower,
Hold infinity in the palm of your hand
                And eternity in an hour.

and in his "Marriage of Heaven and Hell" he said:

"If the doors of perception were cleansed everything would

appear to man as it is, infinite."

Should we open our eyes more to the things which God has given us

instead of concentrating on power, money and warring, in this world I ask?

Do our doors of perception also need to be cleaned from time to time?

This could make an interesting discussion on looking beyond what is

                 immediately stifling our lives.

                INFINITE WISDOM

Blesssed is he whose eyes can see

God’s handiwork on land and sea.

Whose eyes perceive in flower and bird –

In music, song and written word –

                Freshness, grace, intrinsic pleasure;

God’s gifts for us to love and treasure.
