We are both retired and have lived in Ilkley for 20 years

We are lucky to be the grandparents of Jessica (born June 2004) and Daniel (born Dec 2005).

Josie has spent much of her adult life teaching Business Studies and English both in Colleges of Education and privately. Over the years she has helped students from Italy, Germany, Japan and Spain all with different English language learning needs.

Josie has written the collection of poems featured on this website.

Mike was a Senior IT Professional in the Computer Services department of Yorkshire Water Services prior to retirement. He was involved with computers for over 30 years.

Mike has completed an Open University Bachelor of Arts (Hons.) degree course with Philosophy, Family and Community History and The Social Investigations of Charles Booth being his honours subjects.

Both Josie and Mike enjoy their garden, exploring the beautiful countryside in the area and occasional visits to the excellent theatres and concert halls in the surrounding towns and cities. Of course we enjoy time with our grandchildren most of all. We are the proud owners of a 1964 Morris Minor 1000. Apart from the above Mike is forever tinkering with his P.C. when he hasn't got his head in a book! (so Josie says)
